I busted the NP231 transfer case in my 91 YJ with a 4.0L and AX15. I need to know what other Jeeps or any makes of vehicle had the NP231 and would be good for a donor.

tks

88 to,,I think 94, with the same vacuum disconnect switch, most 87s had a NP 207 as well as the earlier Cherokees. You can also use the Cherokee NP231 from 89 to 93. Just make sure the input shaft is 23 spline and the tag is on the unit and it states 231. Also check for the disconnect switch on the unit also. (where the vacuum lines plug into the x-case) if it is out of the Jeep already. You may get lucky and find one with the SYE kit already on it. But you will need a longer D/S for that one./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif The Dakotas I think also used the NP231 not sure if that was a direct bolt up but the drop was on the right side.

What did you break? I have quite a few spare parts.

If at first you dont succeed, your replacement will try and try again.
