I think the problem is the same as the old chat rooms we all used to go to. We all have pretty much said what we wanted to say, had all our questions, or got tired of answering the same questions.

just lurking...

[/ QUOTE ]I've heard that about you. Is that the real reason you had to move? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thought the same thing Tom. In fact he moves around quite a bit. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I still come here to post the NE stuff even though I spend most time at Zuwharrie. Fast tech answers there and most from here at least lurk there. Jim

This is where Bacon Lips has been spending his time I hear... and he's NOT lurking. He loves this stuff!

I have checked this forum a few times these last two days and went all the way back to 2005 to try to catch up... but there wasn't much doing. I spend most of my time over at Pirate although even the pace over there has slowed a bit but still there are some great things coming out of there.

This place was always cool for the personalities. It's too bad it mellowed but it happens.

Anyone ever hear from Brad? I wonder how he is? He was always a cat I would have loved to meet bust lost touch with.

Tom, I still lurk in your bushes from time to time, quit closing the shades.
Hey, I found a digital camera in the sami the other weekend, I found it under the seat while cleaning up a big muddy mess from a day wheeling in the pouring rain. It was the only thing that didnt get wet. The batteries are dead so I cant power it up to see who is in the pics. I am guessing it is yours. (If you respond to this I may be off line for a few days, I am on call to go to Germany sometime this week, if you dont hear back right away...)

Same here I spend most of my time at zuwharrie. I do miss how great is used to be.
Damn looking back at everyones registration date, zookys the only one that has me beat on this thread.

For me the pop ups and censorship were why I left . I still check in to see what my friends from the NE are doing ...

And to make sure the Bedford Boys havent blown themselves up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

yea, I'm an old timer, I still come here almost everyday to keep an eye on these guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. I use to have to come here 3-4 times a day too keep up with the posts, you miss a day and it would take forever to catch up. I dont know what happened but every time they changed the format there would be less posts.

OK, thats funny right there....I don't care who you are!!!

I blame the new ownership....after they took over and the place started crashing and the popups took over it just went downhill.

yea, I'm an old timer, I still come here almost everyday to keep an eye out for guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif and look at the four sail section. I use to have to come here 3-4 times a day to keep up with the posts and post my claim to fame, the Virtual Lift and my oh so tasty bacon references, you miss a day and it would take forever to catch up. I dont know what happened but every time they changed the format there would be less posts about the Virtual Lift and bacon, it is sad really.

Fixed it for you Randy.

Hey guys... whats up? i have not been on this site in a long time. my reason is purely a lifestyle change and pure lack of time. i am surprised at how slow this board appears to be now...wow.

i got divorced and am now a single parent of my awesome 1 1/2 year old daughter. i spend most of my time parenting and working extra to keep up with bills. i also have been finishing up a performance rebuild on a 1989 toyota mr2. i sold two of my samurais this spring and most of my spare motors and stuff but i still have my first samurai in storage and my wheeler.

i do hope that this board continues as at one time this was the place to be for samurai buildups and tech.

Well I got Unhealthy and had to reevaluate where I was heading
by beating the crap out of myself all the time wheeling/wrenching. I still stop by and see if anyone needs any info I have (that will actally listen not argue) I am reasonably healthy now and am trying to get work done on the homestead, and have gotten rid of 7 years of suzuki parts/junk in the last few months. my backyard now doesn't look like a junkyard and I am getting work done on the house.

My son (who was one of the major reasons why I wheeled )
is now 20 and serving in Iraq and will likly be deploying to another area after he returns. (His choice)

My wife and I still enjoy the comapny of as many Zookers as we can meet up with and are enjoying doing things together like Fishing.

As for wheeling when I have time I need to make some rock rails for my x-90 and new bumpers and then it will be safe to take off road without beating it to death. I am more relaxed than I have been in years and we are doing well.

That is all so great to hear Glenn. You did go through a bad stretch there. We all have to try to get together more often, but I know how hard it is. As our Kids got older they arn't as flexible as they once were and now have a choice whether they want to go with us when we do get together. Most times it is "do I have to go". I have noticed that since this thread started the board has become more active. Seems like everyone was still around. Jim

As for me, life took some strange twists and turns. At one point I was going to move to NZ but that got dashed. Got divorced (final in Sept.), moved twice now ending up in upstate NY north of the Catskills in Sidney, NY. Found the gal I should have been with all along (yes, she digs my zook and she's the best!) and am very happy. Just recovering from hernia surgery and will spend Aug. finishing my move to Sidney. Got caught in the recent southern tier NY floods and spent several weeks removing flood debris from the garage/basement and will spend several months cleaning my tools that took a swim. Haven't spent too much time online but do drop in from time to time. Good to hear from other old timers.......

My home, can you swim?

Sportsters can't swim.....

Washers CAN float.....

Hauling flood debris........

#21 ·
Old timers?? Hehe, yer up there yourself .
Yep, amazing what will float, wonder why the dryer didn't move?
I hope your luck is changing, I know the last year hasn't been too good. Work here has been up and down like a yo-yo, looking into doing something else now. Biggest challenge lately is getting my daughter through college, not easy when the money is coming in steady.
I'm still around, check in mostly and read all the other boards too...

I'm guessing that before the washer became boyant, the water encroached into the dryer first making it heavier. As the water level rose the dryer became heavier and the washer became boyant. Total water depth in garage/basement - 6 ft. plus.........

Actually, because of meeting Shelley, this has been the best year of my life. The other items proved to be minor setbacks......

Perspective can be a wonderful thing. Glad to hear things are panning out for you in the end.

Hello all to the rest of you. This was the site I starterd on. Since I have found a few others but I still check here almost daily. Well when it was having all the problems during the change over, I skipped a day or two cause it was irritating.

Everything changes, and all good things come to an end.

Though, oddly enough bad things can go on forever, and mean people never die.

What are you going to do?

I'm still around as well. I don't post much anywhere. Kidney issues 3 years ago caused major problems for me. A year ago I lost 30 more lbs and decided I wanted to be a powerlifter. M and I are thinking about selling her grey Zook in a few weeks. I just don't have the time to play like I used to with lifting and all of my other obligations.
