It's a nick.Way back in some class I sometimes attended,everybody went by their surnames(for some reason...)But since there were four Hansen's(Hansen beeing an equivalent to Smith in these parts of the world)some guy invented Lauben(Laub-Hansen is my complete surname)It stuck,and this is like 12 years ago,I've got friends(for several years)who hardly know my real name.But then again,it's unique,and it suits me.I'm a Laub.

i used to have a 84 pickup, 1/2 toyota 1/2 isuzu, jacked up about 6 inches, and all rusty. i put a license plate on it that said "Sambela" which means pray in Lingala (i grew up in Africa), 'cause that's what you usaully had to do if you wanted to get anywhere in the truck. When i sold it, i kept my plate and put it on the finder, and people started calling it Sammy for short. simple huh?
