Just looking to get an idea of what I'm gonna be paying after I get my bronco. I'm sure it won't be as much as I'm paying now (full coverage on a Nissan 300ZX) since it won't be a fast sports car, and I'm only gonna have liability. Any guesses?

SemperFitz,
I'm guessing a lot depends on where you live. Here in Colorado they really rake you over the coals when it comes to car insurance. I'm 25, have no tickets, etc. and I pay $167 a month for full coverage on a '98 Honda Civic and only liability on the '83 Bronco. I am close to trying to find a new insurance company to see about lowering it.

I pay $672 a year Canadian

That's $448 or $37.33 a month in real dollars, not Canadian Tire money. This is for full coverage on both the Bronco and my 6 litre Mopar car.

Of course I'm F-F-F-F-Forty now, but still that's the most I've ever paid other than when I was in the Arctic those two years.

The type of vehicle really dont matter THAT much, what matters is (Age, maritial status, location, driving record, credit history). My insurance just dropped 50% cause i moved from miami florida to a small town( Mt. Dora, Fla.). My wife and i are the same age and she pays a little MORE on her Mazda MX6 than i do on the Bronc...
I got a better rate from state farm than any of the Major insurance carriers including Progressive.Just price around, they vary Drastically./wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

I pay $2200 a year for 5 vehicles. Liability only. Breaks down to $36.67 a month per vehicle.
Jersey has the highest insurance rates in the country, so I must be a good boy. lol

The trouble with being on top...You always have to look over your shoulder. The best never rest. Fear the FORD thunder!!!

$320 a month ! American funds ?!

Sufferin' Jeezez that's $3,840.00 a year American ! I've never spent that much buying a vehicle in my life ! There ought to be a law ! I was a bad lad from 3 months after I got my license, 24 years ago, until well into my 30s and I never paid as much as I do now. My insurance never went up due to tickets and lord knows I had a few, racking up 47 demerit points over the years, all attributed to speeding and a mountain of no-count(points-wise) warning tickets.

You ought to switch to an insurance company that doesn't check so often.

p.s./
I always bought my broker a bottle of wine for her Christmas gift too. She took real good care of me until I was a saleable item again, insurance coverage-wise

Those speeding tickets in PA are not cheap either. I got one about 6-7 years ago going 72mph back when the turnpike was still 55mph max and if I remember right it was around $200+. The same ticket (same speed again) in CO about 3 years ago was only $75. I haven't had one since, knock on wood.

320 does seem a bit high, maybe not for me (being 20) but over 30 it does. What are your deductables? Oh yeah, and Jim Morrison, Jeeeze Us man, how much does that front bumper weigh? And can you see over it? Looks GIGANTOR!

I'm only paying $53/mo for full coverage, towing, uninsured, etc. to State Farm. They got me away from Progressive a few years ago, and since I haven't made a claim (other than 1 windshield/wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif), they haven't checked again to see all the tickets I've stacked up since./wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

BTW The type of vehicle you drive DOES have a big influence on your rates - liability on a 5-6000 lb Bronco is about double that for a 3500 lb Mustang II. However; once you add full coverage, that difference becomes a small percentage of all the other fixed rates.

Hmm, I never thought about the liability rate, that does make since, I can inflict some carnage with the FORD. Interestigly though, I paid nearly the same for liability on my 87 Camry... go figure. Jim, would you even SLOW DOWN for a deer if it ran out in front of you? I KNOW Steve wouldn't ;-)
