I will try to attach some pictures off the digital camera later - but for now the problem.

Going up over some rocks my friend noticed a nice stream of oil dumping from underneath the Jeepster. Crawl under and looks like it is coming from between the tranny and tcase. I think it is from the tranny but will check fluid levels later today when my girl takes a nap.

While idling - no leak, but when in gear and going it just dumps. Had the Jeepster running for awhile to air up our tires - and no leak. When pulling into the gas station I could see the trail it left. Is there a seal in between that could break?? How do I fix it?

Thank you for any input. Pics to come.

I read somehing awhile back about a seal between the dana20 transfer case and the T150 trannys on jeeps- if the seal failed or was installed incorrectly, the tranny would dump its fluid into the transfer case- theres actually a recall on alldata for this on CJ5s I believe....

but one would wonder why theres pressure inside the tranny and transfer case.....unless the vent is plugged.

See what happens when you don't invite your Jeepster buddies wheeling? You get the hex on you and your Jeepster.

There is a gasket between the transmission and transfer case. Jeep Part number J0937934
Some people just use RTV. but the question is why now? Check all the bolts between the two, to make sure they are tight.
I've made that gasket out of phone book covers before. Or you can try to order one. I've bought complete Dana 20 gasket kits on ebay and it comes with them.

I imagine replacing the gasket entails removing the tcase? I might as well replace all the gaskets at that point.

Going up to Lytle Creek was a last minute trip. Wanted to see the areas that burned, etc. Nothing too difficult - one nice rock garden/hill that climbed up to the snow...got a little cold.
