(These are jokes, so no hate mail...)

Typing with a broken arm...
Kind of like cyber sex, only with out the payoff!

I can't do cyber sex, I never learned to type with one hand...

I don't have a condom for my keyboard, and I don't want the keys sticking down!
(Safe sex, you know?!?)

Safe sex is feet belt on the trapezes!

(OK, enough bad jokes, if that is what you want to call them...)
I'm recovering from a back injury, so I know the drill... Dose of pain killers and steroids, Play on the net, physical therapy with a woman that looks like a former roller derby champion, LARGE dose of pain killers, play on the net some more, .....
Hope they put everything back where it belongs, and it works right !!
Good luck dude, Aaron.

/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif I just spent two days in a big hospital doing an infrared inspection and generator testing. If you get bored, you can always call down to the hospital engineering dept and ask them what day they test generators and on that day wake up early so you can see the lights blink when it transfers over to "emergency" power. You can make friends with the engr. crew and ask them if they have any stuff laying around that you can use on your Jeep like stainless steel bolts. Then you can ask them to give you a couple of hospital-grade extension cord ends to make some dandy cords for your Jeep work. Or how about going to sterile supply and getting some nice styrofoam containers to keep beer cold. OR how about a couple pair of disposable bunny suits from O.R. to have on hand for painting a Durabak coating inside your Jeep tub? There is LOTS of stuff to do to pass the time, BESIDES trying to figure out just who IS the #10 RN./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

Man, with how cold it's been up here in New England the past few weeks - let's see.... get to stay inside, watch tv, sleep, have cute nurses come in all the time, read Jeep magazines all day, nothing says you can't have a beer now and then if you're not on too much medication, you'll get some good sponge baths from the afore-mentioned cute nurses, always getting asked "what would you like to eat today, sir?", (gotta get someone to bring you in some quality food, though), .......doesn't sound too bad to me. I could hibernate the winter away every year like that pretty easily. /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif Plus, get some cute physical therapist to help you out once you're mended... man, sitting pretty. /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Hope you're out and away from all the pretty nurses soon.... no, wait,..... ummm... /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Pete, did you honestly say, "cute" physical therapists? There aren't any. Don't you know one of the pre-requisites is bodybuilding? Another is a masters in Torture as an Art Form, must be a liberal arts class.

I have broken my thumb twice (hocky & boxing), my ankle once (ran off a cliff while drunk, escaped the cops though/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif), and had 2 hernias (but she was worth it!). Every time the physical therapist inflicted more pain and agony than the original injury. I enclose an exerpt:

PT: "Does that hurt?" moving my anke.
ME: "No"
PT: "How about now?"
ME: "No"
PT: "And like this?"
ME: "No" At this point I think I'm healed.
PT: "How about this?"
ME: "Son of a Bitch!" As I jump 3 feet in the air.

If you move ANY ankle laterally 2" from where it was, it's going to hurt, injury or no injury. However, in their defense, I honestly can't tell you which ankle I had the surgery on to remove the bone fragments.

Hey Brownbagg, good luck, catch some sleep, think of jeeps, and keep us updated. I hope you'll get well soon.

/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif Hey Johnnie Reb. Shouldn't you boys change the name of yer off-road club to ******** IS Us, rather that the perfectly correct form: ******** ARE Us? How can you be a ******* and use correct grammar and sentence structure./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif Just thought I'd mention it.

JEEPN, I have to disagree - I dated a physical therapist years ago. She was cute - had a bumper sticker on her car that said "If it's physical, it's therapy." (She was 'open-minded', shall we say.) /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif She worked at a place that did physical therapy for kids - you want to see some cute therapists... man!.... /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif ...also trained me to give really good backrubs, and that has come in handy on other women more than once... /wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

You lucky dog. Then again, most of my injuries were in the military, so that's what I get.

My sister in law is a nurse, and nice. Kinda stuck on herself though, and dedicated to the guy twice her age she's dating (she's 34).

I try to stay away from hospitals whenever possible (like unless I'm DEAD), cuts into the Jeep habit fund./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

I had a bunch of external pins after a shoulder injury, and my P/T Dominatrix (? spelling) was named 'Helga'.
About 5'10", and 230 lbs of muscle! Face like a Mack truck had ran over it,.... repeatedly...
She would always say, 'It ain't doin' no good if it ain't bleedin' !!'
(Somebody! Anybody! Help Me!! She's gone crazy! I didn't bend that way before, so what the hell makes her think I can do it now!?!)
I hope she found a good home somewhere in, say,.... Iran....

My P/T people now are younger, (but no better looking) than Helga, a I intimidate them.
I know I do, cause none of them said a word about me drinking a beer while doing the 'Hydro' therapy... (Love hot tubs and beer! Just makes you want to go Pro-Jacuzzi!)
That's good, cause nothing makes pain pills kick in quicker than a beer! (or three!)

Good luck dude.

Hey Brownbagg! I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I'm not one to encourage lawsuits against honest employers. But no reason you can't use it to you advantage. They're scared to death your going to sue them, so just keep them under your thumb to be as comfortable as can be expected. Keep complaining about the food. Tell them how long it's been since you had a nice thick juicy Porterhouse steak. Tell them how much weight you've lost (It's OK to lie a little).

I hope this isn't true where you are, but I've noticed around here that most of the nurses and other health care workers are a little "out of shape" shall we say........I also notice them all hanging around outside the hospital door having a smoke since it's not healthy to do it inside the hospital! ! !

Here in rural Michigan we're all "corn-fed".

Get well soon.

Hey Brownbagg,
Here in Philly, we've had snow on the ground for about 2 weeks now and we're having a more snowy winter than we have had in the past 4 years. As a consequence of this, many of the side walks(what we locals refer to as pavements, pronounced "payments") are pretty impassable for those electric powered wheelchairs. Since you have some time on your hands, maybe you could come up with an all wheel drive chair for people to use in the snow and ice. /wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

BTW, one of the major reasons we bought our Cherokee was we were tired of shoveling our cars out of their parking spots, which here in South Philly are very cramped!!/wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif Since then, no shoveling and no cussing plow drivers when they go down the street/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

Glad to see you kept your sense of humor, Best Wishes!!/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
