225 cci Engine

Does anybody has an Weiand intake manifold with a Holley Carb., and a pace setter header in use? How big is the effort?

Gima, you have lost some meaning in the translation.
Do you want to know "how hard is it to install these parts?", or "how much will the power improve?".

I would avoid a Holley carb, they do not like changes in altitude. I would use a Weber 38 DGEV, or some 48 series carb on a 225 CID (cubic inches displacement) engine. I have installed the 38 DGEV on an 85 Jeep CJ, and it runs great.

I can't tell you what kind of power increase you will get, as I have a 455 CID engine in my rig, but someone here probably can. I would assume that you would want an economical carb, how much does gas cost there?

Installation of those parts shouldn't be much of a job.

I have the Weiand manifold and Holly 390cfm on mine. Once I got the floats just right it's been a pretty good carb. I haven't had any problems with it in a the 3 or 4 years I've had it.
Very easy installation if that was the question.
Greetings from USA, Have we ever had a post from Germany?

Sorry Paul,

my english is not perfekt.
Gas is 1.10 € the Liter, thats 1,35 $ the Liter, that 4.86 § for a Gallon. But is a Jeep/Jeepster economical? My Jeeps are "Toys" for me.
Many Thanks for your help

Guys,
Could this be the connection to the motherlode of the fabled mine of Jeepster parts located somewhere in Spain?
I don't have the links, but maybe Gima could check this out. He is closer than anyone else we know...I can see it now, a whole ship container of stuff being dragged off the dock by 30+ year old rigs.

I myself right now am running a weiand intake with an edelbrock 4-barrel. This was the smartest thing I ever have done on the Jeepster. It now runs top noch with way better gas milage. Dam the stock two-barrel to hell. But sorry no headers.

If you have a 4 barrel manifold, you are probably stuck with a Holley 360. Holley's website calculates (http://www.holleycarbs.com.au/carb_info.html)that the best size carb for a 225 should flow 365 CFM (cubic Feet per Minute) while the AFB and Quadra-jet probably flow twice that. The best solution would be to convert to fuel TBI (throttle body injection) injection from a GM product, like a Vauxall, but that could be expensive.
I am getting 8.5 MPG (mile per gallon) out of my toy, but it is not often used for basic transportation.
Don't you just love the "standard" measurement system?
Do you know any of the "Rough Riders"? , a German club of collectors of American Military Vehicles.

Gima,
We have heard of the later production of "Jeepsters" in spain...A lot of it is speculation. Anything you know or could link would be great!
OH, MAN!!! Santana, Jeepster, and Diesel in the same sentence!

Clint,

I am working on it. I hat an offer on a spanisch car, but is was to bad, i deleted all pictures off it, sorry.
This car was also 1967. I send today a eMail to the largest collector off Jeeps in Europe, a nice Man from Swiss, he has the largest collection off Jeeps i ever have seen. Over 100 pieces, nearly ever Jeep build.

Manuel,
Thanks for the pics.. We have seen this before, but some of the later guys can benefit from this. Do you see very many of these around? We are always looking for the body molds and panel parts that are no longer available around here. Shipping would be too high, but maybe, if someone could find a way to ship the panel molds, it would be worth a joint venture for the club. I hate to think they are laying around in some old warehouse waiting for the bulldozer
It will be interesting to find out what your contact with the jeeps can come up with

Welcome to the bbs.

Viasa was taken over by Ebro, a daughter off Motors Iberia.
Motors Iberia get into Seat, and Seat is now a subsidery off Volkswagen.

It dont looks to good.

I will have next week contact with DC Germany, and they will contact DC Spain and the Jeep Club Spain, to find out,
is there anything left.

Viasa startet the Jeepster Commando production 1967 and stopped 1984. I have only seen 1 Viasa Jeepster, and in Germany there are only 5 Jeepster known. I find my one this year Oktober in Sylt rostfree, second hand.
A man from LA / USA worked for the sommerseason as an Bodygard in a Disco in Sylt and shipped it this year march to Germany. When he left Germany, he sold the Jeepster over eBay Germany to me.
I am very happy to have it, but i must import all spare parts from the USA.
