Well Pauli...since my CJ hasn't seen a coat of paint or wax in over 20 yrs not sure if my advice is all that top drawer...lol..

...but back when I was into cars and paint jobs that I wanted or needed to keep up...I used Blue Coral...waaaaaay back then it was the same stuff the Caddy dealerships used on the Caddies they detailed out. I'm sure the market has changed as well as paints...I'm going back to the days of good ol' acrylic enamels and laquers...lol..but it used to do a nice job on protecting the paint...unless it's a metallic base...then oxidation is gonna get you no matter what.

 

I'm still waiting on someone to wash mine.

 

Huh! Wax might make the mud and muck come off better.

Someone mentioned Blue Coral, that's pretty good. But the nice cars around here (like the wife's GTP) only get Meguiar's

On the Integra I use Turtle Wax Finish 2001. It actually doesn't have any wax in it. I actually waxed the Integra with it yesterday. It is bright red. It is 6 years old and has been ungaraged for 3 of those years. Paint still looks like new.

 

I second mequirers. I use there cleaner and wax. I have used it on all my vehicles for the past 10-12 years, very easy to use, does an excellent job, and lasts very well. I only need to wax twice a year.

Does it really work well? I would have never thought of that...I've cleaned small engine airplanes with pam, but never a jeep...Does it come off easily when you wash up later? I live in the country down dirt roads, I would imagine that'd be a dust MAGNET!!!

 

On my daily driver, Meguiar's Gold Class wax is absolutely the best I've used. It's got a deep clear coat-like finish.

LEVE recommended Pam, it works. We used to use ATF in a spray bottle on sprint cars. What ever mud didn't fall off was easily blown off at the cion-op pressure wash.

I use "Meguiar's" on everything but the Jeep. Mud is the only thing holding it together.

 

When I had chrome rims I would spray Pam on them everyfall to protect them from the winter salt and sand. They would build up grime over the winter, but in the spring they would wash clean with a plastic brush. Kept them from rusting in the winter.

I like the Crisco Non-Stick Spray much better (well for cooking anyway). Never thought of coating a Jeep with the stuff.

But then again I did coat the underside with oil for years... damn what have I done??? It doesn't leak anymore and all of that stuff gets stuck on there now.

It's all good, got a pressure washer.

yeah i use the meguuires cleaner wax on my whole familys cars it works awesome i used to use mothers i was pretty good but a little priccy

If your gonna go with olive oil...then by all means...double pressed virgin olive oil!!.....LOL!!!!!!

Regular non-stick spray. Why not just use olive oil or butter if you want that particular flavor? BTW I don't cook anything healthy, diet, low fat.
