I want to run a narrow track front Dana44 in my 85 CJ7. Is this possible
without having to outboard the springs?

I don't think so. Everyone CJ w/wagoneer 44 I have ever seen has either been cut or had the springs moved out. The case is in the way or you could move the spring perches towards the center of the axle. Let me know if you find a solution other than the ones I mentioned. I don't recommend shortening the axle. It makes it too expensive if you ever break an axleshaft. The rigs I have seen with the outboard spring mounts look fine and you can do a shackle reversal at the same time.

you can not move the spring perches in far enough for a cj frame, the perch would have to be way into the differential. if you cut it down, moser will cut and spline and ship and axle shaft for $90.....i don't break THAT many where thats a problem( i can do 1 a year)
but i agree.. outboard spring hangers seems to work good

~~Elusive~~
it's sort of still a cj thingy....
