Here is the report I got from a web site...
------------ cut
The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) you entered is invalid. Please check the number for accuracy and try again. (Click your browser's back button to re-enter your VIN.)
Hints:
The letters "I", "O", and "Q" never appear in a VIN.
The VIN must total exactly 17 characters.
The Carfax database contains information for cars manufactured from 1981 through the present.

Your VIN should be 17 digits long. Check your ownership paper(plate/permit or whatever you have in Ohio) the one that contains the info regarding the year, color, make and owner of the vehicle. It will or should contain your VIN and it should match the one on the dash and on the firewall.
Hope this helps.
