VERY IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ!!!

We have a large issue here in Colorado with a certain individual that is giving off roaders a BAD name. He works for a local rock radio station KBPI and he goes by Willie B. His last offense was he invited over the air waves for people to meet him at a place and go wheeling. Over 200 vehicles ended up tearing up Caribou Flats, 25 acre wetland, which lies on private land and tore it all to hell. They called it a "mud fest." The owner tried to get them to stop and leave and the "mudders" just flipped him off and continued. The "mudders" ran OVER the No Trespassing signs on their way to this wetland. The owner has maintained this area for nearly THREE DECADES! This is not the first time this person has led a crusade of people and ruined nature. He also is known to throw animals from several, 4-6 stories, building to see if they will survive. We are talking Dogs, Chickens, Cats, Animals like this. He does all kinds of stuff like this on the air to get ratings. I use to like the music they played but will no longer listen to the station.

What I need from all of you is what do we do about this. Some of you on this board are in Colorado and may already know about this. Please help. We need to stop this kind of problem.

A few of us learned about this just a few hours ago and are already thinking of contacting the owner and seeing if we can help rebuild this wetland. We need to reinstate our image as good people and not all off-roaders are a$$ holes. I am sick and tired of people like this destroying our name. We are good people and do not want to be assosiated with this kind of scum. Please help out and let me know what we need to do or start up the correct action and tell us how we can help. Don't take this the wrong way, but I can see buddy-boy doing this just to be a goof, but remember when he said jump of the bridge there 200 other fools just stupid enough to do it, so I can't totally hold him responsible, unless of course his name is "Ravine" and he hypnotized them all? All I', saying is that there should be 201 people to blame, not just 1.

BTW, If ya see chucking dogs of a roof, shoot the bastard, the cats I could care less, there just food for the dogs, but that's still justification for sniper practice!

One thing you could do is contact the writer of the story below and see if you get him to write a followup. Let him know that a good number of people including 4x4er's are mad and maybe help call attention to the fact that your willing to try and organize a cleanup effort. It's crap like this that gives the eco-nazis ammunition and the help the feds need to justify shutting down recreation areas!

I just sent out my email to the reporter voicing my support as a 4x4'er to the landowner, these are probably the same kind of people who throw they're trash down and use the woods as an excuse to drink and drive. Everyone involved should slapped around!

Wow, i am with Tim on this one, i am in NH, but would be willing to do anything to help. Giveme an e-mail address and i will send out some support. This guy is obviously f***ed in the head. I do not know how he can get away with this and especially the crualty to animals, as far as i know that is a crime punishable by jail time! get me addresses and i will fire away.

I hate to say this, but this is exactly why we don't have many places to go wheeling. How do you argue that a place should be kept open when we have idiots calling themselves four wheelers doing this crap. I am disgusted. I have an area within walking distance of my home that I used to take my dog and go swimming, it has been ruined by young adults (loosly used) who have gone out there with the 4 wheel drives which does not bother me as much as the trash they have left behind. Every Sunday morning I find beer bottles floating in what's left of the lake. I don't know about anyone else, but I get upset at the magazines with there worst stuck pictures showing some @$$hole trying to cross a lake. And then they say in small print that it was private land or something to keep them in the tread lightly program. How many of the freaken dumb @$$es actually read the print? NONE cause they are morons. They see the picture and say "I could do that". I am sorry for babbling, I am just digusted with those who are supposed to be my fellow 4 wheelers.

I have 2 words for the trespassers "twelve guage"

I wonder how the DJ would feel if you showed up in his front yard with a couple hundered friends and their 4wd vehicles to tare up his property.
The owner of the property should prosecute every last one of the trespassers for finacial restitution to return the land to the condition it was. What about contacting the EPA I didn't see any porta pottys out in the wilderness and what about the impact of all those 4wds in an area as sensitive to evironmental impact as that. I do not want to lose what little area we have for wheeling. If stunts like this keeps up 4wheel drive vehicles will have no where to roam.
If any legal action can not be taken against these individuals and the DJ then consider giving the radio station bad publicity. If the radio station gets a bad rap then no will want to advertise with that station. No advertising, no money, no money from advertising no money to support the radio station. It's called a boycott, and it is the only way to really hurt any big business.
If all else fails then deal with the DJ in the back alley. Put the thought in the back of Mr. DJ's mind that people are out to get him. Every one from animal rights activists to the people on the religious network. Pretty soon he will be watching in his rear view mirror and to scared to sleep at night. There are several ways to get back at people and still remain in the gray area of the law. Eventually he will get what is comming to him.

I think it is awesome people are willing to help clean up, I would help too if I was up there. My main gripe is that this DJ and his friends should be the ones to clean it up! They made the mess, they should be the ones to clean it up! Hopefully owner can figure out a way to do this.

No your right it doesn't make it any better, but if he was chucking dogs off a 6-7 story building, I know where my first stop would be before I joined everyone in Moab..... Doing alittle flight testing of my own!

Geez! wott an A-hole . Frankly, that land ownner would hav been well w/in his rights to start shooting. I wonder if the local Police were called? and if they did anything. Living in MD I doubt there is much I can do to help that situation but I can make sure I speak up when I see some idiot illegaly wheeling out here.
