Well, after going through some deep water, I changed the fluid in the 30. Can you say water and sludge? It doesn't appear that it's been changed in quite some time. I also noticed a small leak in the rear seal. Shouldn't be too big of a pain to change. Anyways...are there vent tubes on the 30 or 44? I looked but didn't see any currently hooked up and I couldn't find anywhere to hook them up.

Thanks

Yes they have vents. Some may not have any extension.

Just look on the axle tubes for a small fitting. (may not go anywhere) If it doesn't have a nipple for a hose on it. Take it out and replace it with one that does. Then run the hoses from that to as high as you can get them.

If you still can't find yours, I can go look or take some pics of where mine are at.

I guess I'll really have to get under there and look. I'll check on Wed when I have the day off.

Thanks

Or yours could be like a friend of mines. We found out that there was nothing in the vent hole in the top of the diff - just the hole.

I've seen that Will.
Someone took the fitting out and left it that way.
But the most I have seen are where there is a nipple with no hose where they left it that way when it rotted off.
