Where is the route from Vegas to Pahrump or do they count Pahrump as Vegas?

Actually the race neither starts in Vegas or ends in Reno. The reflection is made to the nearest metropolitan areas. I am sure that if possible sand eco-freaks desires and municipal legalities the race would actually start and end according to it's namesake. Regardless, it;s a great race. We'll be out at the road crossing near Mercury to catch everyone at the start.
