LMAO....foolish man. I fell for that last year when my wife said, "All I want in the whole wide world is to go to Ireland for 2 weeks. You can skip Valentine's Day and my birthday (in March)." So, I took her to Ireland last May. To this day she's still whining about how I did nothing for her 40th birthday. Like Ireland wasn't enough.

This year she used the same line if I would remodel the kitchen; new floors, cabinets - the works before the June Jam. I ain't falling for it twice...I have dinner and flowers planned for Friday night at Lista's.

Try this trick (it worked for me). Tell her that the service at restaurants is generally horrible on Valentine's Day and suggest making Friday night the romantic celebration instead and free up Saturday.

I agree, you are toast. I have the mother of all reasons to not observe Valentines day this year, I'm getting married the next day...but that doesn't mean I won't do something...even though she said we should skip it.

 

So my wife asks me the other day, "How about a nice romantic dinner this weekend for valentines day?" I said "Sure, what are you going to cook ?"
I'll let you know how it goes.

 

At least my girlfriend is a little more overt. She told me that under no circumstances was I allowed to work on the jeep this weekend.

The worst part the new carburator is comming in Friday evening. The thing you do for love huh.

Ever watch "Curb your Enthusiasm?" It's like when Ben Stiller invited Larry to his birthday party and told him he didn't need to bring a gift. So Larry shows up at the party and he's the ONLY one who didn't bring something! And then he poked Ben Stiller in the eye with a toothpick, but that's another story.

 

LOL you know my wife. But that's not the case this time. I'm not working on the Jeepster this is a paying gig for one of the guys I work with. Besides Dray she cant fit her new truck into the garage even if the jeep parts were out of it, The Dodge is too wide and long to fit. You know how little my garage is.

 

OK so I'll 'fess up a little. I did at least get her a card. The real reason she gave into this is that her plans were falling through. Her birthday is next week and she wanted to have all her friends go out for her birthday

but they all have Valentines plans Sat. night. Then her best friend was rushed to the hospital yesterday with an appendicitis

so that left her with no one but the two of us. We have one of those love-hate relationships.

We love to hate each other. You know it's one of those thing that don't go together like, military intelligence, happily married, etc. Man I'm glad she never reads this board.

 

Ok, Ok...I get it. Just don't forget...if we all put as much effort into our marriages as we do our Jeeps, just think how happy we would be!!!

 

If I have to put THAT much effort into it, and my Jeepster is Yellow does that mean I can trade my bruntte wife in on a blonde?

 

Well, I take it all back. After picking up the stock items from Lowe's Saturday morning (the cabinets are about 3 weeks out) my wife said, "Happy Valentine's Day, you can have the rest of the weekend to work on your Jeepster."

 

I ended up working on my shop most of Valentines day.

 

See ya'll thought I was crazy... well.. that's another topic all together. I got finished with my project Sunday morning in the snow, got paid and took the family to Hooters for wings and to watch the race. HMMM Jeep work , Hooters and Daytona... It don't get much better than that. Unless it had been warm enough to take the boat to the lake.

 

only if the hooters girls were topless - BTW has anybody heard the new Bill Envall CD - Reloaded - he mentions topless steak houses in TX - in one skit about his 12 old son -

 

OK so it might just be better to take the Hooters Girls to the lake and leave the wife at home.
