Does anyone know what year AMC started using air pumps on thier V8`s(CJ`s in particular) ? I`m looking for a set exhaust manifolds that doesn`t have the plumbing on them for the air pump lines .
Also , any difference in flow characteristics between 304,360 and 401 exhaust manifolds ?

My 72 CJ came with a 304 and it had an air pump on it,this was the first year amc put their v8 in a CJ,you might try some of the amc cars or trucks I have a set in my 82 scrambler(old style without the tubes) ,most of the manifolds are the same. I think they changed them in the later years

I put either 9/16" or 5/8" fine tread bolts into the holes. I can't remember which size they were. Been a couple years now.

I appreciate the info guys . I probably jumped the gun on the manifold request . I thought for certain those bolts holding the air pump stuff in would have welded themselves into the manifolds over the last 21 years but I lubed em` up and out they came /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
