I recently when from drums to discs on my 6 bolts and I had to grind the back of the hub so it would lay flat on the discs. The hub was too rounded and the disc inner circumfrence was too small. Anyone else had to do this? I use the big brake setup with 76 6 bolt hubs. No problems so far just wondering.

I ran into the same problem when I put discs on my '75. I didn't grind my hubs for fear of not getting them perfectly flat or causing a balance problem. Wish I had a lathe. Since discs became a standard in '78 the six bolt hubs have been manufactured with the back side flat. I bought new hubs from 4WD Hardware and eliminated the problem.
