I am seriously thinking about converting my engine to propane. I have an '83 J10 and am getting about 12mpg. While not bad for a Jeep, I can't afford to do as much driving as I'd like with gas at $2.52.9/gallon. I have been looking into this for a while and have picked up a few points along the way. The biggest is to indcrease th CR to take advantage of the anti-ignition properties of the propane fuel. That and get as big a tank as posible because you don't want to run the tank dry.

The two problems that I see are first how do you get a tank big enough? That souldn't be as big of a deal with a J10, but on a CJ7 it could be hard. The second thing is where do you find a propane station to fill up at? I don't see them on ever coner.

if you saw the price for jet fuel you'd really start crying its over $2.50 and we move over 20,000 gallons a week so someone's got to be making out on this $hit. avgas is only $2.20 which its too bad.
