Hello,

I'm getting some clunking noises whenever I hit even a small bump. I own a TJ with a 4" suspension lift. I recently had the transfer case lowered and now I'm getting the unwelcome noise. I'm wondering if it is the transmission mount that rests on the cross-member... what are the symptoms of a worn out transmission mount?

Thanks,

Ben

I think that I know exactly what you're talking about. Could it be your t-case linkage? Mine rattles. It sounds like it's tapping the floor, right?

It could be... but I'm getting other vibrations now though so I think its more than just the linkage. I'm thinking that if the tranny mount is bad than that may be part of the source. The other thing I'm going to look at is the front and rear drive shafts to be sure they are angled properly.

Were you able to correct your linkage rattling problem? If so, how did you do it?

Thanks,

Ben
