In November's issue of Petersen's 4wheel and Off-Road they have an article about transfer cases. I got thinking that we could do a reduction here rather than at the axles. Or maybe I could put on a Dana 20, 24, NP205, or a Samurai case with a reduction to the final drive line. I know that there are a couple of companies that make the lower gears for Samurais and the Danas are popular to modify.

Let me know what you find out, and I'll see what I can dig up also? I've been looking into dual cases etc for awhile, but this is one avenue I have not looked into, sounds like an idea though, because I am just chewing at the bit for a better crawl ratio without spending to $$$$.
