Ok, so I've started the resto on a 57 CJ-5. I've got the tranny and transfer case out tonight and figured I could start to rebuild these in the garage while the frame can be worked on in the barn. It has the t-90 tranny and the dana 18 transfer case. Are there any things I should look out for? I've already busted a flange on the drum e brake assembly. I have the rebuild kit for the tranny and figured I'd just take everything out and bead blast it. But the guts in the transfer case just don't want to come out. Should I just leave it alone and clean it up the best I can? Oh, bye the way I'm putting a different engine in it other than the f-134 so I have that if anybody needs parts. I imagine that's all it's good for. Thanks in advance for any advice.

You really need a book for the rebuilds, these things work in a very limited space, and the tricks needed to snake them apart can be hard to figure out... Bead blast ? I dono about that...

There's some people there that know alot about what your doing. Just go to http://www.serve.com/teaherbfarm/wwwboard/wwwboard.html?id=TVD2X Then scroll down to the bottom and join the Willy Tech mailing list.
