I have the opportunity to get one of two grand waggoners that I can use for parts in my CJ7. I want the motors and transmissions. One is for $400 and comes with a 360 and a TH400. The other one I think I can get cheaper with a 401 and an auto, but I don't know what model. Does anybody know what transmission came in a 1976 G. Waggie with a 401 and quadra-trac? Both motors will have to be rebuilt and the trany with the 360 only has 2000 miles on a rebuild. Am I crazy for wanting to put these in my CJ7? What kind of funds should I shell out? Thanks

My girlfriend said if I spent one more dime on my Jeep she would leave. Man I'm going to miss her!

both trannys will be the th400, youll end up using the Qtrack transfercase or search ( hard) for factory th400-Dana 20 adapters, or buy them ($$$$)

the 401 is slightly more $$ to rebuild
get a newer wagoneer donor ( 1980 or later) and youll get a V8 and a tf727 that will bolt to a dana 300 or new process case

Look to the Commando's for the Th400/D20, they had them.
