Here's the problem.. I loose power to accessories, but not the engine. Probably a loose ground for an accessory fuse box?? Or what else. It happens very erraticly, with no pattern. We turn off the jeep, and it is normal after a re-start. Electrical gremlins are making this annoying. Anyone????

You're not saying that your dash goes dead, are you (common problem)? Do you mean no radio, fan, fog lights? Typically most things are "grouped". The radio is through the ignition switch ..so even if the dash loses it's ground (cigarette lighter, dash lights, etc.) ..it still works ..same with the exterior lights (not the dash lights) ..it's got its own path to the battery and to ground via the light switch.

So ..please run a finer detail of what does work and what doesn't.

Next time, don't turn it off, just wiggle the key switch a little and see if that brings the accessories back on .

Thanks for the quick replys.. I'm not really sure what dies. I am getting this second hand from my daughter. If I remember correctly, it was the radio, dash lights, and the guages. Next time we will check it out better.
Thanks again..Ricky...seeya...

i would check your body ground (battery to tub) wouldnt hurt just to run another. i know my cherokee had a ground strap problem and my turn signals, radio, gauges, and heater all would just cut out after the car got hot.

On my 97xj sport same thing...cure was to take instrument cluster out of dash and clean all the contacts then reinstall. About a 2 hour job,,,no problems since (one year on the cleaning). Prior to the above I put in a new ignition switch old one was very dirty...This helped for about a month then back to on/off for instruments.
