Anyone swapped the Dana 35 out for something bigger in a TJ without buying a complete assembly from Currie or Dynatrac? What did you use? What about the brackets? Bolt pattern? Width? Etc.? I really don't want to pay the price for a bolt in unit. If anyone knows the location of a stock TJ Dana44 housing I would appreciate it.

Doug from www.workingman.net swapped in a Ford 9" & Dana 44 from a old Bronco. He has some pics on his site. He used the RE TJ brackets which are stronger than stock. I plan on doing this swap when I get the time & money ;)

Find a D44 from an XJ (late 80's w/tow package). Its the right width, has bigger brakes and 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. Then either grind off your old brackets and re-weld or get the ones from RE.
