well.. i took my tj-7 out this weekend.. and i tore up the Uwharrie!!!.. it was unstoppable.. the only problem i had was the trails weren't hard enough! (every one liked the tj frame under the cj too)only a couple minor tweaks... and I'l be at tellico memorial day.. last year it kicked my A$$.. this year i want revenge. we'll post pics soon

I guess you did not hear that the "meanie greenies" had the USFS grade over the toughest spot? Seems the greenies did not like it. So they got the FS to bulldoze it. To bad on the workdays at Uhwharrie, we do the work by hand. The greenies use a bulldozer. Glad to see the YJ-7 worked out. At least Uhwarrie worked as shake down trip before Tellico.

so what are the final specs on the TJ-7 motor/trans/axles/suspension? just curious, good to hear somebody got there winter project going /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

final specs....\
engine..amc v8
tranny...tf 727
x-fer case...dana 300
front axle...scout II dana 44, shortened 3", detroit locker, 4.56 gears
rear axle...amc 20 w/moser shafts, detroit, 4.56 gears
body..94 4wheel parts fiberglass tub w/cj front clip
frame.. 97 tj frame with leaf springs, shackle reversal
suspension..4" skyjacker softride springs w/ 1 leaf taken out and a spring over
...this is why i have my quote at the bottom!!"it's still sort of a cj thingy"
the rear axle is the only stock part left.. and people say the amc 20 is weak....

I remember when I first heard of your swap and not using the TJ suspension I was a bit puzzled, but softride springs with a leaf removed and spring over I betting that thing has some flex /wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif

Especially since, this past weekend, he didn't even have the shocks mounted yet.
