Is anyone runnin 33-13.5 LTBs on The Rock Crawler Type 89 wheel (15-10),with the Bush wacker flares? I already got my tax return back !! Man its good to do that $hit early. Anyway National tire & Wheel has some sweet, mix and match combos, thats what I plan on runnin. I was just wondering if anyone knows how close the Bushwackers will come to covering the LTBs and if they will rub the stock springs over the axle.

I just called National & they dont have those rims anymore so I might have to go with the MickyTompson Classic II. But the back spacing is 3 3/8.That's going to rub I think. I dont want wheel spacers.

Any Advice?

What backspacing on the rims... the bushwackers will most likely cover the tire no problems. I had them completely cover my 32x11.50's with overhang. It looked a bit silly but worked really well. You might not want a 10" rim with the LTB's... check the interco site.

edit: I'm slow... you beat me with your second reply. What type of rim do you really want... alloy or steel? Once you decide you can find a wheel that suits you (concerning backspacing)

I just whent back on National, I think I might go with the black Eatons. I their steel, they look titanium (in the picture), only $68.95, and I can get custom back spacing.

So now I'v gota figure out what's the best BS.What do you guys Think. I dont mind if they stick out a bit, but Id really like to keep the tread under the fender. I think the 13.5s have 11.5 wide tread.

Wow ! The flares look really wide with those rims, dude. Thanks for the numbers, I think I'll go with 2.5 or 2.25 BS, I'd rather they stick out a little than rub.I could put a 1inch lip on the flares if needed Thanks.

I was running a rim close to that with 33X12.5 TSL Radials.
They are smaller than LTB's (I believe).
My tires hit the leave springs hard.
So I went to the black rock crawlwer 2 1/2 BS rims.
No more hitting, or evan rubbing.
I also have not broke a front axle since.

Yea, maby I should have them make it 2" or 2.25" ? It's $20 ex. a rim, plus they powder coat them.

Thats a deep ass rim though, Anyone out there runnin something like that? I know RRO sells them like that but their bare.

I run a half inch BS in the front and 1 inch BS in the rear. I don't rub and I do stick out. I like it though. Like the pontiac says "wider is better". I would rather be wider, and I'm not having birfield problems like everyone said I would.....SO FAR.

A couple of notes about backspacing . Any deep offset rim away from the hub center does not turn easily , the wheel will turn in a large arc instead of turning on a center axis . This makes steering harder , knocks the Ackerman angles off big time , and causes tires to wear faster . With 3.5" backs on the old rims , I had no turning probs and never broke axles in the front . With the 2" bs rims , I've busted a lot of axles and have about wore out my shoulders trying to steer it offroad . Lesson learned , going to wider axles and centered rims next time ....

Sarge has a really good point. I personally ran black steel 15x10 rims 2.5 BS with 33x12.50 dunlop mud rovers they were great and didn't rub but it sucked to turn the damn things. my arms actually got bigger driving that beast. Plus parallel parking at home was horrid. Widder axles are the way to go. I think you might only need 2.5 bs I wouldn't go more unless you think you have to.
