What are your thoughts on the Valley Spring tire carrier ? To me it looks like it protects
the two gas cans pretty good but the tire sticks out pretty far, when you have a 33x12.50 spare.

Do you have a link to this carrier? I don't know what it looks like.

I have this particular tire carrier. I purchased it used when the original kept breaking . Over time it has put a lot of stress on my old body. Eventually it tore the rear skin. I tried diamond plate and small angle iron as braces to stop the carnage. After I swapped tubs I did not reinstall it right away. I had intended to weld two short sticks of 2 x 2 x 1/4 , onto my 4 x 4 tube bumper. I just got around to doing it. I welded the sticks to the bumper, taking the weight off the body, and then welded the carrier to the 2 x2. It works fine but sticks out further than I really want. I plan to make a new one at a latter date. I have been saving all the post on the board and will use a little from various post to create one that meets my needs. The exztra gas cans have svaed my behind a few times when I have run out of gas. I would save your money and pick one of the many designs that have been post on this BBS.
