Thumb saver for ATV throttle?

Seen 'em before, where do I get one? Most are just extensions for the thumb throttle. If you know where to find one, be it a web site or mail order - please share!

I didn't waste the money, I took a piece of 1/8 stainless tubing 4inches long (won't rust) curved it ground off sharp edges, and nylon tied it to throttle,
every one who uses mine thinks its great. when my hand goes south ( previous injury) its great I can use various positions to throttle. can take digital
photo and post here on new site by end of week. bitmap or jpeg.

Thanks, I would appreciate the pictures. Sounds more fun to make one myself anyway/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

THUMB SAVERS ARE A GOOD IDEA BUT LET ME TELL YOU A QUICK STORY OF THE ONE I FITTED. I WEAR FINGERLESS GLOVES WHEN RIDING MY HONDA FOREMAN 450, THE 1st TIME RIDING WITH THE THUMB SAVER IT SOMEHOW GOT STUCK IN THE THUMB HOLE OF MY GLOVE, AND TRYING TO GET FREE PUSHED THE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN, ONLY BY PUSHING DOWN ON THE GEAR SHIFT EFFECTIVELY "TAKING IT OUT OF GEAR SAVED ME FROM GOING OVER THE EDGE OF A 500 FEET DROP, NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS WAS THE 1st AND LAST TIME USEING A THUMB SAVER

They are a great device if used in the right terain i watched a guy get his caught under his handle bar and end up rolling his quad on a tight turn there not that good for hard trail riding but you can get them from cabellas http://www.cabelas.com/

I just saw the one in Cabella's over the weekend before I read this - thanks!

As to other's concerns about the dangers, I am not too worried. I am already thinking I will shorten it some - it looks too long.

It is just that I have a damaged tendon in my thumb, and a day of riding the quad means a week of pain. Trying to make it more enjoyable, you know?/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

If you buy a twist throttle kit for about $30 you can eliminate all this other bull [censored]. And gain some, when you use a thumb throttle you have your best grip at full throttle and that even isnt very good. When you use a twist throttle you have good grip all the time. But if youd rather have a thumb throttle try www.denniskirk.com the also have twist throttles.
A good idea, but I believ there may be problems in that my Polaris's throttle is electronic, not cable operated.
Thanks fo the tip though.

You might want to consider a product from Primal Speed Gear. It replaces your stock thumb throttle and is adjustable. I purchased one for my Scrambler and love it. It costs around $38.00 but is well made. You can get a review of this product at ATV Connection, there e-mail is "[email protected]".
