I keep seeing the misuse of then for than in many posts. Just to clarify, then is a reference to time, than is used in comparisons.

There is no such word as alot. There is a word allot but that means to divide, distribute or appropriate.

You don’t use alittle so you shouldn’t use alot.

Well I'm definitely not an expert of English, by afar...but I did stay at "Holiday Inn Express" last night!

Sorry couldn't resist, that pun.

[/ QUOTE ]
Er,,, ah,,, that's not a pun. A pun is a play on words that sound alike or nearly alike.
Example: I did it for the pun of it.

Not that you are alone but I often see the use of the wrong singular/plural verb form with a noun or pronoun.

he is
they are
is one
are many

Thanks Taz, I stand corrected, I suppose "quip" would've been the better word to use, instead of pun.

What a "ninnyhammer" I feel like, maybe next time I can be a "poppinjay." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But without the double "p".

However in the world, would you know I watched "O'Really?"(O'Reilly?) last night?
Have you been peeping through my bedroom windows, again?

I stand corrected again, maybe next time, I can be the popinjay! No... on second thought, I think I'll be the popinjay this time!

Ninnyhammer was his new word of the day last night, sent in by a viewer. And given that he claims, "Caution, you are about to enter a no-spin zone", I think that my (intentional) spelling of his name is much more appropriate. His opinions on things are much more like the Twilight Zone.

He makes up fact as he goes along to support his case. He has been caught with fictional or misquoted facts many times by blogers. When confronted to support his fictional or misquoted facts, he just makes some lame explanation to claim that he was right.

Why would I need peep into your windows when I can peep into your mind?

But for some reason, you'd never miss an O'Really show would you?

As far as peeping into my mind, go ahead and ass-u-me all you'd like, makes you look real intelligent.

Now who ass-u-me-d? As soon as they say up next The O'Reilly Factor, I change to MSNBC and watch Countdown With Keith Olbermann. Last night, I switched back to FoxNews for the second airing of Special Report With Brit Hume because I missed the start of it the first time. It follows the second showing of O'Reilly which I happened to catch enough of the end of to know about "ninnyhammer".

I didn't ass-u-me anything. I observed the usage of a rather obscure word that happened to be highlighted on The O'Reilly Factor the night before so I ASKED, you CONFIRMED.
