We can't dither much longer. It's time to make a decision about where and when to hold The Bash. The date is only nine or ten weeks away. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Oh Man!!!

No Peas and Tater.... Bummer.

Guess that I can still hug Toby and maybe he can build up as much flatulence as Tater. I'll still miss you guys.

Brad, Mike & Heather... I'll miss you guys too but you just don't hug like SweetPea or make gas and snore like Tater.

Hope that everything works out for your Mom Kathy...

Maybe stupid thought for Will... The driveshaft length is OK? You mentioned pinion angle somewhere up there above???

It might be just Aaron and me sucking them down but I'll make some Elbows (Grilled Hot Wings) as always. Oh heck Tom will eat some and Toby loves to hate them. Got some eggs festering also... Hmm... Maybe I should try them?

As for things to do... The Red Jeep is on jackstands in the back and the gas tank is sitting on some saw horses. No worries - I'll fix that.

So what are we down to??

Jim
Toby
Will (& ?)
Trina
Tom & Dee
Aaron (& maybe Robin)
Dale
???

Seems like it will be pretty quiet... Well except for Tom & Dee after midnight.

Dale

Last time I heard from Tom they were leaning towards getting a room. We'll never hear them from across the lake. :D

And Bucky007 was talking about coming, but he hasn't chimed in lately.

I booked a room at the Super 8 in Cadiz yesterday. Hate to hear that Tater and Sweet Pea won't be there. Dee was going to bake cookies for Tater. Hope all goes well with your mom, Cathy. I thought Raducal was coming..?? We went to an event two weeks ago and everything worked on my Jeep except the CB didn't have power. Should have that sorted out before the Bash. Still not sure which Jeep I'll be bringing. Depends on availability of a trailer. I'm not sure yet what I'll be bringing for food, but will have something and still hoping Dee will bake cookies even if Tater won't be there.

Sweetpea - - God bless your mom ! All the best to you all.

Dale - - Flatulence ?

I'm bringing a friend also - Carol

Tom & Dee - - If we are REAL quiet, sounds travel great distances over water.(Tee - Hee)

I can prepare a Pork Tenderloin to add to the mix , for a crowd this small , one might be enough.

Good question. Earlier we discussed alternatives of good old Badlands and joining the Jeep Invasion of Maysville Kentucky. Here's a link to mention of the event at Fat Boys: Fat Boys Jeepers :: View topic - Jeep Invasion of Maysville, KY May 22-23 2010

I don't think anyone here has been to Maysville, and I'm reluctant to take a group to a place wwe know nothing about. Unless someone has a better idea, I'd say that Badlands is the fall back. Dale has talked to the folks at Steam Corner to tell them that we may not be there this year. Hasn't he? Dale?

Well, committed for the weekend of 21st to Ohio River Run,
May be the last year for it since some developer purchased some of the ground we need to use for the run.
--------------------------------------------------

Was it Barrel Roll that was asking for an extra set of narrow track axles?
I just loaded 4 sets into the trailer for the River Run and for the Jeep Clinic on Memorial weekend up here.
---------------------------------------------------

Got a heck of a deal for the jeep clinic,
Three days, two night rides, camping included for $50.
RedBird is about TWICE the size it was the last time you guys went up there...

IF we don't get some sun in the next two weeks, it's going to be a SLOPPY MESS there too!
I better take along a clean handkerchief! :)

------------------------

Is LBL still closed for the high water?

I have a friend down that way that said the lake is about 1 foot from an all time high water mark, and much of the LBL area is under water...
There are some housing areas down there people can't get in and out without boats...
I guess it looks like Nashville without the TV Crews according to the guys that live down there.

The lake website says they are concerned about water getting so high it will over top the dam...
I guess it's still pretty much underwater if they are worried about it overspilling the dam!

I guess it's got two weeks to dry out...
*If*... it doesn't rain anymore between now and then.
-----------------------------------------------

We just got about 1.5" here this morning in about 20 minutes!
Really came down!

The dog wanted to go out, I opened the door, saw a WALL of water and told him to pee on the floor!
It was easier to clean it up than to go out and get soaked to the bone!
--------------------------------------------------

I hope this Memorial day weekend isn't like three years ago when we had to skip wheeling to go rescue old people from rising flood waters!
We got 30 inches of rain in less than a week, that's HALF A YEARS worth of rain!
We actually got 90 inches of rain that year instead of the regular 60-ish inches that we usually get in a year.

Went to rescue old folks from the retirement home,
And someone stole my chain saw and saw tool box off the trailer while I was gone!
(No good deed goes unpunished!)
-------------------------------------------

Anyway, if Ohio River gets out, And LBL isn't under water, Me & Kerry might come down depending on what the little woman wants to do...

I'm not sure I can get her to go for two weekends in a row,
And she's already made commitments for the Memorial day weekend run/clinic so she's going to that for sure...
If she begs off, Me and Kerry might show up just for the hell of it, see what's shakin'...

Does Kentucky still honor Indiana Handgun permits? Anyone know?
In previous years Indiana & Kentucky had reciprocity concerning permits,
But with the changes, I don't know anymore...
Don't want to take one across the border if they don't!

That's too bad, Joel. I was really hoping to see Chrissy again! :D

The LBL website says that the Turkey Bay area still is not among the open facilities. I kind of expect that we'll be back at the Badlands again, but I'm not going to give up for a while. I plan to check with LBL on Tuesday the 18th, and make a final decision then. Watch this space.

Dale, have you contacted the folks at Steam Corner?

And, has anyone heard from Zack?

Would be nice to see Joel and Chrissy... But of all the crazy things they things they have wheeled... None were boats.

I also looked at the LBL site to find that the trails are closed. Let's just see how things drain... Jim's gonna make the call and I'm good with that.

As for Steam Corner... Nope, can't find an e-mail address or phone number. Last time that happened I just drove out there on a Sunday... Not enough Sundays to go around now. Then again when you consider the size of the group we are talking about... We can just setup anywhere, get a shower house working. They are always easy to work with and a small group doesn't need anything special. If we don't show up... We must be someplace else (I have always warned them when we are showing up as a large group).

Zack... I might just have his cell number if he hasn't changed it... And then maybe Aaron (Crazy Eddie) has talked to him?? Will make a couple of calls tomorrow.

Dale

Hey guys,

My schedule for next weekend is weather pending. We've got 26 acres of soybeans left and I haven't been able to get started side dressing corn yet. This week has been a washout and the weatherman is calling for rain Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Soooo, if this forecast holds true the ground will be getting fit about Friday for me to get back to work.

We'll see.:confused::confused::confused:
Aaron.

No, it sure isn't. It rained there again last night. To be fair to Don at Steam Corner, so he can get ready for us, I'm going to switch the venue. The 2010 Bash will be at Badlands ORP in Attica, Indiana. We'll be staying at Steam Corner Campground in Veedersburg. Same old, same old.

Drat!

OK, that fits with Zach's plan... Talked to Zach just a few minutes ago and he had not been here or anywhere to know that we were planning LBL this year... Simply planned to show up at Attica next weekend. He was not so keen on going all the way to LBL. So I guess that the backup plan is Zach's plan.

I'm good either way... I looked at the LBL site today and it seems that they had some alternate maps up and are working on cleaning up the trials.

Jim called it... Bash as always at Badlands - Attica, IN. Camping at Steam Corner. If there should be anyone new to this... PM Jim or me for more information.

Hey Bucky!!! Come on down.

Brandon, just a few minutes for you.

How about the Greencastle IN folks... Same thing, different year.

Whatever happened to Dan Wathen? Bring one of your Jeeps. :)

Cancel that motel reservation Tom... Come on out and camp as always.

Dale
