tachometer installation

How do I go about installing a tachometer on my straight 6 commando?

I know its a vague question, but any input would help.

the tach lead would go off of the tach lead on the coil. then you should have a power lead that is switched on with the key ( fused) and a ground. and maybe a light on the tach...
