Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here?
I put the transfer case back on ,and for the 2nd time and I crushed the funnel, needle thrust bearing and the thrust race.I have the tranny in neutral and everything seems to slip together nice until I am about 3/4 of the done tightening it I can hear the the thrust race snap.
Is there a trick to putting this together that anyone knows?
Also can anyone tell me the torque pds for the valve cover gasket, and the transfer case to tranny bolts?
thanks in advance

As for the tranny . . .
I am not sure what the funnel is, but I know what you mean (I think). I had the same problem when I put my T4 together for the first time. I thought everything was perfect, but it wasn't. After I started the engine, the transmission wouldn't move.
What happened was that I put one or two too many shims in (in the front bearing retainer-#14 on pic). In a manual I read, it says that the input spline should be tight, and it was, but apparently too tight. After taking out those very thin shims and making the spline a little loose everything has been good to go ever since. So get just a little play by taking off the input spline retainer and removing a shim or two. Maybe connect the case and tranny first, then put on the retainer on front.
I hope this helps. If you have any more questions--feel free to ask. The first time I put it together was a pain, but now I got it down.
