SYE ?\'s

I've been researching SYE kits and notice that some of them indicate that you will need a set of adjustable trailing arms or adjustable cam bolts. Other make no mention of this. It's hard to imagine that this would be necessary on a TJ with only a mild (2.5") lift. So what's the low down?

its not the SYE. it is because of the CV drive shaft that you will use with it.

the CV joint that jeepers use is simply 3 U joints, instead of the stock 2.

two near the output of the T case form a double joint that balances itself.

the one closet to the rear axle should be adjusted to have as little angle as possible, cause it doesn't have another joint to balance against..

If you go to an sye you'll need adjustable control arms or cam bolts to adjust the angle of the rear. I just went through this myself only in my case I as adding a new rear diff so we just welded the brackets on to give me the angle i wanted.

This is what you'll need when you add an sye with a cv driveshaft.

just spend the money to get some good adj. UCA (rusty's, rubicon express, ect.), cause you dont want to start messing with those cam bolts, they are a pain in the a$$
................if you dont get them down tight then they will let your pinion rotate every time you step on the gas........it will be like axle wrap on a SOA set up......
