"minimal gains"??? Are you kidding? Without that anti-sway bar, the articulation is quite amazing... And for the price (probably somewhere around $100 if he can find the disconnects) it's a ton cheaper than the $4-5k at least that it's going to cost for a solid axle swap, and will probably be good enough for the guy...

yeah the solid axle conversion is a bit extreme right now (though it has crossed my mind it certainly ain't in the budget for some time)
but that't the problem i cannot find dissconnects for newer chevies with IFS and i can tell the would make a big difference as when i hit an
obstacle with only one tire it gives only so much before the whole truck starts to lean cause of the sway bar
maybe i have to find someone or someway to make my own!!??

I don't have an IFS fullsize around now, but tomorrow I'll check out the antisway bar on a friend's fullsize with IFS and I'll see if something can be fabricated...

To be honest with you, the swaybar on my 92 has been disconnected ever since I put the lift on it. And that was in 92. I run the Rancho 2-3" kit, so the torsen bars are cranked up, but I have found no adverse driving effects from the bar not being hooked up, and thats been over 100k miles. My $.02

One of the 4x4 mags did a review of disconnects on an IFS Chevy a while back. I couldn't find the specific article, but I did find an advertisement/write-up in the July '99 issue of 4 Wheel & Off-road in the "new products" section (the only magazine I happened to have at work). The name of the company is Persson's and they list the ones for the '88 and up ones as custom. The web site is www.jps.net/persson and phone is 888-494-8833.

6.2Blazer do you remember the name of the magazine as maybe i could contact them and make them look for the back issue
with that article
also i checked out the persson website and it seems to be all toyota (except for the mitsu montero dissconnects)
but i am going to contact them tommorow and see if they will help me out
sorry i am kinda hot on this item but it seems it would make a big difference and somehow chevy IFS got overlooked by aftermarket
companies plus i am looking for a bit more suspension travel without a lift as i am happy with my current height
thanks for the help so far guys

Take a look at the stock sway bar mounts... You'll find that they're at least remarkably similar to the ones on the persson website... I checked out the ones on my friend's 92 Z71 today, and they look about exactly the same as Persson's... You might try sending Drew an email and ask for some specifications about theirs...

I don't remember which magazine it was that did the product review. But you are right, Persson's specializes in Toyota disconnects but the advertisement I'm looking at states "Special-order lengths are also available for................and '88-and-newer Chevy IFS trucks with adequate clearance between upper A-arms and tie-rods".
