I was wondering, I have a 90 Wrangler 4.2 ltr. Is it legal to swap a newer 4.0 FI motor in? I guess I'd have to yank out the computer etc.. Should I pull the Engine tranny and Transfer as a unit? I've never swapped in a computer controlled engine before.

Here in CA you can ONLY swap in a newer motor. so you should be fine. if your in CA, call Turbo City (i think they are in anaheim)they may offer a kit. if not call 4 Wheeler Supply in huntington beach (Gary puts those new 190 hp. mustang sixes in jeeps!)and they should be ably to tell you what you need to know.

http://www.customjeep.com can supply the wiring harness. They have done more of the 4.0 swaps than anyone else and have it pretty much down. Call them and find out as much info as you can.
