I have a 94 King Quad 300, it used to start just fine by just hitting the starter button, now it has gotten very hard to start, I have to hold the throttle wide open and it cranks for probably 10 seconds or so before it starts. When it is warm it starts fine, dDoes anyone have any suggetsions as to what the problem may be?
Thanks

you may check it out this way, remove the fuel line to the carb and let it sit
to cool then see if it starts hard. my polaris trail boss has a nasty habit of
flooding if the line is left on for more than 4 days without starting it.
the problem on mine is 2 fold, the shut off valve is seaping and the needle and
seat is leaking. this allows the cylinder to flood. not fun on a pull start.
you may be experincing the same type of problem. if so then the needle and seat
are the first thing to be changed. good luck

Do you have a 2 stage choke?? if you do pull out the plunger on the side of the carb this will give you FULL choke instead of 1/2 choke
good luck

First off, check the air filter. If it's dirty, their hard to start. Some friends of mine had the same problems after driving a couple of
hours & shutting down. When I came upon them, they had everything apart. ( fuel line ) They put everything back together and it
still wouldn't start. I took the foam out of the filter box, washed it in a near-by brook, dried it out and voila,,,, it started immediately.
GOOD LUCK........
