So the dick cepek 6.5" suspension lift is what i should go with?? i just want somethin that keeps good alignment..and ive heard that dick cepek is a good kit for this..and ive also heard that procomp really sucks when it comes to quality.......with the 6.5" dick cepek lift and a 3 inch body lift could i run 39's without trimming much?? or should i just go with like 38's?? thanks

Don't want to sound like an @$$ hole, but 39's or even 38's will ruin your front end. There is a kid in my home town with a 99' 2dr tahoe with a 6" rcd lift and a 3" body lift with 38's. He has had repairs total over a couple grand just because of the over sized tires that can't be handled with IFS. If you don't ever hit the trails, you might be ok. If you do hit the trails, good luck. If i were you, I would get a solid axle up front and then get your 38's or 39's. Just my .02 worth

yeh...i was lookin into throwin a dana up front andthen puttin the lift and like 38' s on..but the solid axel conversion woulce cost me too much plus the lift andtires and wheels....i think i should be fine seeins how all the offroadin i do is muddy fields on a rainy day..other than that its gonna be my vehicle to go from point A to point B....so i think that ill b alright to run 38's because i dont get tooo extreme while offroad....ill just switch up gears to like 4.10's or so...whata ya think??

And don't forget about how many steering gear boxes you will need to either reseal or replace! 38's are going to KILL your factory gear box. I run 36's and I've been thru two in the last year or so. Save your $$$ and do it right...lose the IFS and go SFA. Check out Willywanter's website, he did one and its bad a$$.

i deffinately dont want to go through with doin the solid axel set up for up front...although it would be super badass to have....i just cant pay the $750.00 for the SFA kit from offroadunlimited.com...and then have to search and pay for a complete axel setup for up front.....and plus this would take too long even though ive got all the tools and the shop to do it with....... i just wanted to kno if goin with just the 6.5 inch dick cepek kit and runnin 35's or 36's with it....or put that on and a 3 inch body and runnin 38's...i dont think ide tear stuff up that quick...because i dont really have ne place round here to wheel...except for some unexpecting farmer's muddy field...lol ..

well a guy on here runs the DC 6.5" and a 3" BL and runs 37" tires......no complaints yet as far as i know......so if you did minor trimming you could prolly swing the 38"s but be real REAL easy on the skinny pedal

Hey that's me!

Yea I run a Cepek 6.5" and 3" body with 37's. I have the t-bars cranked about .5". I can still slam the tires into the fenders. When I first set out to do this I thought about 38's but then I thought about all of the problems. My 37's are 12.50 wide and most 38's are 15.5. There is a BIG weight difference. Also there is a BIG $ difference. So far I have not broken a thing. Wasted some ****ty Pro-Crap shocks up front. But got a Cepek Triple shock hoop and have a much better front end. I have replaceed the upper ball joints and that is it. Almost 40k miles on the lift. I play but not too hard. Slammed it in mud and on some little hills. Jumped the front end a little. Nothing much.

As for your questions ask away...

Laters, Ryan

I have a brand new ORU kit that I will sell for $600. It's for the Ford Dana 60 axle 78-79, but will work on GM or Dodge axles too. I did my swap in a storage garage with no air tools, and wasn't really that hard. Depending on you locale, I could hook you up with everything that you would need. Axles, both front and rear, transfer cases, divorced Ford and Dodge 205s, div 203, 208, and probly some driver side drop 241s, too. It might cost some coin up front, and probly more than an IFS lift, but you will never have to worry about changing idler arms, pitman arms, getting an alignment after running over a wooly bear.....And you will at least have the cool factor. Don't know about where you are, but there are ZERO SAS GMs around here. AFAIK, I have the only one. (Soon to be two)
