Hey guys,

if you haven't noticed. I brought back a lot of old posts since I had to go through the 612 new ones since I got back from a fun and educational trip.

Anyways, I had parked the MJ on a very slight incline. When I returned and turned the key, immediate start-up, then sputter, then death. I cranked it a few more times. No dice.

OK, I'd be pretty pissed if someone messed with my truck as it sat in one spot for 10 days. So I popped the hood, half freaking out. Oil good, no real noticeable differences.

Got back in the cab, foot almost to floor and cranked her. A few throttle feathering later and vrooooooooom!!! Yeee haw!! Must have just drained back, 'cept for what was in the throttle body.

Glad to be back. And inclines are evil.

Good to hear it's still on the road. Maybe this is a reason another post it says someone waits about 30 sec w/ the key turned to pump the fuel to the engine then start it. I will park downhill or flat when I get a chance, then try to see if it is a problem.

My 2.8 86 XJ is now in semi storage because of the high gas prices and the fact that I need to get some exercise in by walking more (and loosing my fat gut/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif). When it sits idle for several days, even it warm weather like it is now, I always set the choke like I would in winter. A couple of short cranks brings life./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Yeah, I'm used to giving it a pump or two when below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, but this was unexpected, but relieving when I figured it out.

I should do the same as far as less driving and more walking/biking. But man, there's been some serious just-great-to-go-for-a-drive weather this past week.
