Does anyone know of a different ratio gearbox instead of powersteering that would work? Sometimes the steeringwheel gets hard on the thumbs.

The old Saginaw manual boxes were a pretty common swap for early Jeeps. I don't know about the ratio, but I put one on an old Willy's and it worked well. I don't remember the orientation though, so I am not sure if it would work on a Zuk.

Go to one of the circle track suppliers and get a reducer . They are available in different ratios too . It will fit in between the box and the shaft so you may have to shorten your steering shaft . For the trouble I would go power , it is well worth the investment.

Guy I used to work with got an old dumper truck, the steering was shot so he got another box from the local scrappy, looked about right. He spent some time fitting it and when he finished he took it for a drive. he turned the wheel to the right and the truck went left
Its still like it years later, he says its great for reversing

That is too funny.

Wait, I am getting a new idea for a steering box with a forward facing pitman arm that is also theft proof...................
