·I just finished the homebuilt steering brace! It looks great. I used two 5/8ths bolts to bolt a flat, 6x6" piece of steel to the inside of the framerail so that 2" stuck below the frame. I then welded a piece of 2x2" angle iron to the bottom of the plate so that it rests snugly against the bottom of the frame-rail. Then, I made a 2x6" flat piece of 1/4" that attaches to the output of the steering box with a u-joint. It is attached to the frame plate with a piece of 3/16ths walled 1.5"x1.5" square tubing. It will take the hand of God himself to move that steering box now. So I imagine that the next week link is the tie rods...right? Whaddya think? Weld angle iron to the outside, or put solid rod inside?
Measure once, cut twice...or is that the other way around?
