There is a squeak coming from the front of my '77 CJ-7 that is really annoying. It only occurs while moving, so I am thinking it may be the wheel bearings. Just want to hear a verification of this. I checked the brake pads and fixed one that was loose. Do wheel bearings act like this when they need repacking? I hope to get to this this weekend. Would like comments on other things I can check for.
thanks all,

I suppose they could, but it has been my experience that if you let them go far enough to make noise, they generally are beyond
help and make a clicking noise that is due to the now square parts trying to roll./wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif

did you use noise stopper on your pads? if you did not and are running semi mettalics they will squeak. also if your rotors are not turned with the proper finish that will cause a squeak also.
