I've had this little sqeak (sorta sounds like worn u-joint) that developed since I installed SYE and rear driveshaft. I just greased the rear u-joint (since i disassembled it while installing and figured it might need want grease), but the noise is still there.
It seems to go away after 15-20 minutes of driving, but after jeep sitting for a day or two, it's again there.
I will have to check the u-joint again (maybe take it apart tpo make sure it's all put together correctly), but what else could be causing it?

yo dennis-
are you talking about your rear u-joint at the differential right? you dis-assembled it? i know you were going to install different u-bolt type clamps to replace the stock straps right? i don't know what could be making the noise but i too am having some "new" noises since larger tires! hope you figure it out:)

you know, as i think of it, i can remember the noise coming from there only after i installed the u-bolts, instead of straps. I might be wrong, but I'll have to check.
I might just yank the driveshaft out and start all over. See if it's what causing the noise. Then carefully put it back together, making sure it's all right and tight.

I pulled the driveshaft out, started the jeep and put it in gear. i could hear it still, so it eliminated the driveshaft and u-joints.
I pulled out the speedo gear and tried spinning it and there was the squeak!!!
I put tons of grease at the tip of it, where it looked dry and not lubricated by t-case oil. It still kinda sqeaks, but at least I know it's nothing major.
I'll see if it persists.
