I know a lot of you already know about the spanish Commando but this is the first time I've read the history and perused various pics of them. It's kinda neat to see the differences. I wonder if they were improvements or if manufacturing capability or raw materials availability dictated the design differences such as the switch and gauge clusters.

Yeah - I was bored!

COOL
looks like the ross steering on the red one, and notice the low-bucl door pull. Also, no speaker grill on dash.

Thanks.

You're welcome. Here's the link if you want to see more pics. Spamando

My wife adds, "That's fitting - Jeepsters associated with Spam; all the crap that's usually thrown away, covered in petroleum like goo, neatly packaged into a square can with a key that never works."

She may be smarter than me.

I noticed that too. Other differences:

Gas tank fill on the passenger side.
No grill badge.
Sliding window on the hardtop.
Maybe square fog lights as standard equipment - many of the pics show them.
AMC icon on the vin tag and Kaiser colors on the hubcaps.
Generic colored horn button.

There is a series of pics of one being restored though that is just like the US Version. I wonder if it was an import or an early Spanish production...

Wasn't someone here in touch with someone in Spain?

the very first look like the original one, very soon they used parts from spain (Switch, ...)
mostley they used Perkins engines, the last ones came with Renault Diesel engines.

I am from Germany, we have in Germany 3 from the US, 2 from Spain. In Austria they have 3 from the US too, 1 from Spain. There are some in the Benelux, maybe 10 in France.

From Spain i have at the moment no informations.

The Jeepster is very rare in Europe.
