I think Im gonna do a 1.6 16v. It seems simple and from what I hear it has enough power to fit my needs. It also seems to fit my budget a little better than other things ive looked at. I think im going to end up doing SPOA first and then get a track bar....ide be afraid that a 16v would wrap the springs.

Im wondering tho if doing a spoa is a waste tho. Some time next summer im gonna try to get toyota axles on there.

SPOA to me is one of the best modifications there is, it opens a whole new door to suspension options and outcomes. 16v is also an extremely good engine to upgrade to. If you look on my website I have my 16v swap done on there:

Look under " projects", hope that helps...

Its awesome, I love everything about it, I kinda wish I would have went with a automatic, but this ZF is holding up very strong. Im still working out bugs on it, I plan to make the ZF tranny 4wd, then use advanced adapters to slap a mated D300 behind it, after that its on to what axles, in which Im still contemplating. All in All, its awesome, I just cant wait to see how this roller motor does

I dunno about automatic.....manual seems to be easier to wheele with. Its saved me many times in the ice for sure. I'll look at your web site on the swap. I think the biggest thing is just gonna be me finding another primary vehicle while I do the engine swap. Then theres buying the engine too.

well if you get a good look at it and work hard enough on it the swap itself can be done within a matter of days, I believe somebody has done the swap in a day, just gotta set everything up and be ready for whats to come.

A 16 valve could easily be done in a day, if you had the harness and everything done. Mine went from no harness, motor or tranny to running in about an hour and a half.

The 16 valve swap can easily be done in a day (or a weekend). The exhaust is one of the things that could hold you up a bit, but I can typically modify them enough to get them working so it can be taken to a real exhaust shop. Once the wiring is modified it goes in in about 1/2 hour, the fuel pump install takes about an hour with the mods needing t be done to the lines. Bolt the engine and tranny together on the garage floor with the new clutch and adapter and swap over to the correct motor mount configuration only takes about 30 minutes to an hour even if you have never done it. Installing the new motor takes 1/2 hour to about an even if you run into complications.......it's all very straight forward. E-mail me if you have any questions and I am up here in Virginia making things easier.
