Why didnt you make the cage fit the hardtop also? That is my plan. Anyway the guy is supposed to call me tomorrow and see if i have what he wants. I think the only thing that i am missing is the corners.

Can someone please bring me a hammer my 33's just ate my fender again. Damn i need more lift.

Well that is a good enough reason to not make the hardtop fit. Does the stock yj soft top use corners to hold down the top or is that a best top thing.

**** The real reason i did it like as shown in the pic below is because i am 6'4" and needed all the head room i could get!

there are 2 pieces that run along the side,
both corners in the rear, the windshield runner and I have a strip that goes along the tailgate.

I have a factory soft top with clear windows and the side smoked ones. Looking to sell this

Interested? Make me an offer
Or am willing to trade for a Bestop black denium top

Boston Mangler,
Hey does a soft top keep you as warm as a hard top, no what I mean is can it keep you comfortably warm? I've been thinking about doing the same thing cause I rack me head hard about once a month on the cage. Where I live now it doesn't get real cold, but I'll probably live in colder country next year and don't want to make a cage that won't fit the hard top if I'm gonna need it.
Thanks

**** If i had installed it according to the directions, it would have fit. I installed it "My Way" for more head room.

I just got through swapping all the hardware and top off a 88yj with a best top to a 92yj that had a stock hardtop. Here's what came off the 88YJ:

two long side rails (4 bolts hold it down, holes line up with hard top holes)
two rear corner rails (two bolts hold it down, holes line up with hard top holes)
two small pieces that go between the tailgate rail fixed to the top and corner rail on ea side (2 screws on ea, need to be drilled)
two winshield uprights (ea held on with 4 screws, need to be drilled)
one winshiled channel (about 9 screws, need to be drilled)
then of course the frame that holds the soft top

I'm a little over 6'3. This is why I really like the idea of making the cage as high as possible. I'm also considering dropping the seat as low to the body as possible. I think I can get a couple of inches if I make my own brackets. By the way, how much better do you think the hard top keeps heat in than the soft top. I have no problem with heat, grew up where if it's only 100 in the summer than it's a really cool day, but I do not handle the cold very well at all.
