ok so if i just need 3 inchs is a soa lift better than a shackle lift and less than a spring lift? if so anybody have any suggestions or advise? think it would be relatively easy
new shocks, pitman, ubolts, u bolt plate,and brake hoses
sound about right?

I SOA will raise your jeep more than 3 inches. You will gain the width of the axle tube, the spring pack, and the spring perch. To do a SOA right will probably cost more than getting SUA lift. There is alot more than just putting them on top and driving off, like driveshaft angles, bump steer, and axle wrap. To do a shackle lift you will gain only about half of the length of the shackle. So a three inch shackle will net about 1 1/2 inches of lift. So to get three inches you would have to have about a six inch shackle. Not as easy as it sounds.
