A sidekick or tracker alternator is a direct bolt in replacement. Even the plug is the same. The tracker alternator has only a slightly higher output than the samurai's. The best move is to swap to a GM alt.

Needs to be an early model alt that has the small size pully shaft so you can swap on the Sammy pully.

I made my own GM mount a while back. I'd buy one next time just to it was right the first time. GM alts are a dime a dozen.

The tracker alternator brackets are also much heavier and bolt in in the same position. Just be sure the pulley is correct for your belt.

I changed mine to a Vitara alt. But it only rates at 50 amps.

The GV alt is 80 or 85 amps. Not bad.
