I usually get between 300 to 325 miles per fill-up but about three weeks ago I fueled up wil Shell gas and only got 225 miles! Anybody else had this problem with Shell?

Observation - yesterday I pulled the 2000 off into my back pond (it's about dried up so it's a really big and deep mud puddle) and put her into 4wd just to see what it would do. I was really suprised at the difference between the 86 Cherokee and the 00 Cherokee. The 86 always felt strong when I took it into the mud and climbed the banks where I felt I was having to baby the 00. You could alwyas tell the old 86 was in 4wd where the 00 felt softer. I almost felt like it was struggling. It did ok - pulled itself out just fine and all that - but I was nervous a couple of times. Maybe it's the difference in the gears and the difference between the standard and auto transmissions...........

Or maybe older Jeeps are just tougher.

Funny since around here Shell advertises increased milage with thier fueld.
I cant say myself because the two Shell stations I know of are about a dime more for regular gas ($1.65) than bp($1.48-1.53) and Citgo and Amaco and Kwik-Trip. I have no use for the higher octane in my stock motor - I do get lass fuel economy with it than 87 octane. I tried it. High octane didn't help my 76 Datsun with a milled head either, and decreased milage.
