If it drives like the one I worked on last week,YES you will have to correct the caster with shims.His has some good sized shackles,and was a bitch to keep on the road.

Are you talking about 1.5" longer than stock shackles, or 3" longer (that comes out to 1.5" of lift)?
If the 1.5" longer shackles, you should be ok. If the 3" longer ones for 1.5" of lift, they you will not be happy in the long run at all with the possible/probable problems.
