Yesterday I put the tub back on my CJ after doing the 4.0 swap. But now the tub touchs the back of the valve cover. Anyone know what i should do? Also if anyone has a wiring harness including the computer and fuse box let me know. I need the obd type 1 comp.

If it's a metal tub, just "massage" the firewall with a hammer... if it's fiberglas I would say cut and replace, but I don't know how easy it is to put new 'glas in place... it looks easy

Make sure the 4.0 motor mounts are bolted to the correct holes in the frame.

I used the 258 motor mounts and they mount in different holes than the 4.0 mounts did. I'm talking about the mounting holes in the 4.0, not the frame. The valve cover should not interfere with the firewall.

i left the motor mounts on the frame when i did the swap, so they should be in the right place, right?

Probably not. On my '78/258 there are two sets of holes in the frame, and the pounts go in the forward set.
