Is the serial # stamped on the frame of 71 Jeepsters. I would image so, but haven't looked. Searched this group and google but didn't find anything.

If so, what do you do if you want to use a different frame, but want to keep your same VIN #?

That depends upon state law. I can give you the California method of registration, but it doesn't apply there.

Hey, got any idea if Joe Cocker has re-opened the restaurant in Crawford? I'll be out there in August

Thanks. some Friends and i rode from camp ijn Cedaredge to see the north side of the black canyon, but they have belt-driven bikes and chickened out of riding on gravel. We went to crawford for lunch, no lunch.
I ride out there alomost every year, first weekend of August

Thats a great area up there. I'm about 90 minutes from there.

I guess back to the question at hand. Basically, the Jeep is already licensed so it isn't an issue for us, but it concerns me if we try to sell it etc...

I was gonna go renew my plates for my XJ this week, I guess I'll just ask them while I'm there.

I've swapped parts and frames and never have I seen a serial number on a Jeepster frame. There are a couple of numbers, but I've never seen a serial number. I wouldn't worry about it anyways. Maybe your frame was damaged in an accident, and you got a replacement.
